Mother’s Day and National Police Week, what a combo! I’d like to invite all the Mothers to sign up for Sunday, May 11th.
It’s going to be a great WOD, and there’ll be prizes, only for Moms, to the top three Crossfit Mamas! It will be an epic battle for bacon and chocolate to the workout “Fight Gone Brad”.
Plus, it’s the start of National Police Week! President John F. Kennedy proclaimed May 15th Peace Officers Memorial Day, and the week that May 15th falls to be designated as National Police Week.
This year will be the 51st National Police Week. And as your friendly local CrossFit Cop, I’d like to celebrate this by coaching class in uniform and bringing by my patrol car for all the kiddos to check out. Feel free to get a photo and a police badge sticker.
With my current assignment on the East Metro Gang Enforcement Team, I don’t get to spend nearly as much time in the gym, or at all the social events, as I used to. For me CrossFit Portland is always a superb refuge from work and provides me excellent physical preparedness for fighting crime. I feel honored that Scott and Xi Xia have the confidence in me to keep programming WODs on Sundays, and fortunate that I get to have some fun on top of it.
Join me this Sunday to celebrate! I’ll plan on multiple heats for athletes and the online class cap at 24 spots (3 heats of 8 athletes), so everyone can justify all those Mother’s Day brunches, and you’ll know what it feels like to dig deep in order to effect a squirrelly arrest.
